Beauty Tips for lips

Tips for Beautiful Lips...

1) Exfoliate your lips: Dry, flaky, chapped lips are the worst canvas for lipstick. To ensure that your puckers are in perfect pout condition, the experts at recommend exfoliating your lips. To do this, apply lip balm to your lips, then using a toothbrush or clean mascara wand, scrub your lips (don't be too rough). Then, use a tissue to wipe away excess flakes and voila! You'll have a perfect pout in no time.

2) Create fuller lips: If you're tired of having thin, pursed puckers, extend your lip line using a neutral-toned lip liner. Then apply lipstick over top. Be careful though — don't extend your lip line too much. Or even easier use a plumping lipgloss to give you a full kissable pout. Shop our LipVoltage Lipgloss here

Eyebrows

How to fill in your brows...

Start filling in your brow using a powder.
Touch your brush (a small, angled eyebrow brush is recommended) in the brow powder, tap off some excess powder on the side of the powder container, and start to lightly outline the top and bottom edges of your brow. When filling in, follow in the direction of your hair growth. Stay in the margins of your natural brow shape; you don’t want to over extend, and apply powder past where your brow hair actually is.
Try starting at your arch, and working your way down on both sides. If your arch is too high, it can make your face have an angry look. You might need to lower your arch. The shape should be angular rather than rounded. If necessary, your may hold up a brow stencil as a guide.

The Bobby Pin Trick

The Bobby Pin Trick...

When using your trusty Bobby Pin, are you giving them 'grip' and then the 'flip'. Here are 2 great tips on how to make the most of the Bobby Pin:

  • GIVE THEM GRIP
Coating your bobby pins with a layer of hairspray will transform them into “sticky pins” and give them a better grip. Spray them individually or  place them on a paper towel to coat a few at one time.
  • NOW LETS FLIP
Instead of having the rigid part facing away from your scalp, rather flip them to face towards your scalp. The wavy texture allows it to grip your hair better and prevent it from sliding out.

Don't sweep your powder on...

Don't sweep your powder on...

Did you know that sweeping your make-up powder onto your face actually moves the all the other make-up you have so strategically placed?

So what is the best way to apply your powder?

  • Load up your powder brush
  • Give it a good tap to remove excess powder
  • Stamp all over by pressing the brush directly on your skin.

Pressing the powder onto the skin also helps to set the makeup.

REMEMBER: Stamp, don't sweep!

How to Reduce Pimples in One Day

How to Reduce Pimples in One Day

Wrap a few crushed ice-cubes in a clean cloth and hold it against your pimple for a few seconds. Repeat this process at least four times a day.

Ice improves blood circulation in the area and freezes the skin pores. It helps to soothe the skin around the area and reduce the swelling. A one day fix, ice can reduce your fat boils to pin prick spots that you can conceal easily with a bit of powder, cream or concealer.

 How to open your eyes

How to Open Up Your Eyes

"Take a white eye pencil and line the inside rim of your lower eyelid. This really makes eyes pop! Fun fact: Look at the old black/white photos of the gorgeous women of the ‘30s and ‘40s like Marlene Dietrich and you'll see this was done to them. Additionally, if your eyes are a close set, use the white pencil to lightly line the section where the upper and lower lids come together, closest to the nose. This will make them appear wider apart. The key here is to make sure it's subtle."

 How to fix clumpy mascara

How To Fix Clumpy Mascara

Let’s face it, this happens to every tube of mascara over time. The problem is it dries out and then starts to form unattractive lumps. To help prevent this, don’t pump your mascara trying to get more on your wand; you’re basically pumping air into the tube causing it to dry out even faster.

There’s an easy fix! Run the wand under hot water until the water runs clear, and then place it back in the tube, rubbing it around. The water and heat softens the mascara liquid making it apply as if it were a brand new tube!
